*TITLE:* START THE YEAR WITH PRAYERS.
*TEXT: Peter finally came to his senses. “It’s really true!” he said. “The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what the Jewish leaders had planned to do to me!” Acts 12:11 (NLT).*
From Acts 12, the scripture explained the situation of the Church when Peter was arrested by Herod the King. Constant prayer was offered to God by the Church concerning the arrest of Apostle Peter and God responded to those Prayers. An angel of the Lord went to the prison room where Peter was guarded by soldiers and delivered him from his enemies.
Through prayers, the church released Peter from the hands of Herod and the Jewish leaders who had planned to execute Peter after the passover. Sometimes, it seems as if some of us have not understood the power of prayers. Prayer might look very simple but it can turn circumstances around especially when we pray earnestly to the Lord.
As the year just began, we can enforce God's will for our lives through prayers and if there are forces already set in motion against us, through prayers, we can subdue them. Start the year with fervent prayers and take charge in the spirit; don't let the wicked outsmart you this year.
If we can pray, we can program the year in our favour and get the Lord constantly on our side. It is a good idea to plan and strategise, but we prevail and turn the expectations of the wicked to foolishness via prayers. Peter came out from the prison and said, truly, the Lord has saved me from the hands of Herod and from all that they had planned to do to me.
Do not underestimate the power of prayers if you want to rule in the midst of your enemies. Therefore, guard against anything that stops you from praying because it is indirectly stopping your promotion. Invest massively especially in praying in the HolyGhost which is praying the will of God.
*Prayers: Strengthen my spirit Lord and give me the grace to live a life of prayers this year in Jesus' name, Amen.*
