Court of Appeal Gives Uhuru Victory, Rules Against This High Court Decision on Uhuru's Appointments

Few weeks ago, High Court of Kenya had ruled that the Chief Administrative Secretary positions were not created by the constitution,hence they are there illegal.

The ruling also added that President Uhuru Kenyatta contravened the constitutional provisions by appointing CAS to the Cabinet.

However, Court of Appeal has now suspended High Court ruling suspending the creation of CAS positions in the Cabinet.

The three Court of Appeal judges led by Roseline Nambuye, Agnes Murgor and Wanjiru Karanja, ruled that there was an established stay that was granted by trial court on the appeal.The judges added that they now affirm the interim orders.

Among the CAS who were suppose to be affected by High Court ruling include Mercy Mwangangi(Health), Beatrice Elachi ( Public Service and Gender), Gideon Mungaro(Lands) among others.

The ruling now gives President Uhuru Kenyatta a breath of fresh air as he continues to escalate on building his presidential legacy towards the end of his term.
